In the past, more traditional hair removal methods have been used to achieve a smooth, hair free look. The first method was using a razor to shave away the unwanted body hair. This had numerous disadvantages such as razor burns and razor cuts, and of course it was difficult and dangerous around the bikini area. Next came depilatory creams. Although these creams were an easier option they were not ideal due to their chemical nature.
When the Brazilian wax method of bikini waxing came along New Zealand women took to it immediately, and it is now one of the most popular ways of getting rid of pubic hair and allowing you to show off your sexy bikini body.
What can I expect from a Brazilian Wax?
A Brazilian wax will actually pull the hair out from the root shaft. Once the hair is removed it will usually take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to grow back.
Prior to getting your bikini wax you need to ensure that the pubic hair is long enough for the wax to be able to pull it out. If it is long enough for you to pull with your fingers then it will be long enough for waxing.
Another tip is for a woman to try and have her Brazilian bikini wax done one week after the start of her menstrual cycle. Sensitivity is reduced at this time the waxing will be less painful.
It is usual for a brazilian wax to remove the pubic hair from the front to the back, but to leave a thin line of hair on the pubis. This is referred to as the landing strip.
Although many people think of a Brazilian wax as being purely for fashion purposes, it is actually beneficial health wise as well. Many women report that they feel more hygienic and fresher after this particular hair removal procedure.
Having a brazilian wax is not only confined to women either. Many men also want a complete hairless body and more are becoming brave enough to undergo the pain and get a brazilian wax.
It is normal for you to experience redness of the skin for 2 or 3 days after this procedure, but this is just something you must endure in the name of beauty!
